The Mars bar was sold as the the Milky Way bar in North America. In the UK another bar was sold as Milky Way. This has led to much confusion over the years. The Mars bar wrapper is black. For many years the Mars Bar was sold in the United Kingdom & Canada using the slogan "A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play". In 2002 the UK-sold Mars Bar was altered and repackaged to make it more appealing to women. The nougat filling was whipped more, making it lighter and more like the Milky Way.
